TECHNOLOGY COURSES
Technical Skills and Keyboarding
Keyboarding is a foundational course for subsequent technical courses. Students will learn the proper way to type on a computer keyboard, fully using their hands, posture, mental concentration, and work environment for accurate and efficient results. Students who successfully complete the course will attain the keyboarding skills advantageous for future success in academic and work life.
Students who successfully complete the Technical Skills course will become proficient in basic computer applications commonly used in academic and workplace settings today for personal and team productivity. Students will learn current Google applications for communication, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, contact management, calendar management, task organization, document management, desktop publishing, and team collaboration. Students will learn the essentials of information security, safety, and personal responsibility in using computer applications. Students will learn the basics of internet searching, citing, and discernment.
Business Applications
Students who successfully complete the Business Applications course will become proficient in intermediate computer applications commonly used in academic and workplace settings today for personal productivity, team productivity, and organizational work. Students will learn current Microsoft Office 365 applications for communication, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, contact management, calendar management, task organization, document management, desktop publishing, and team collaboration. Students will learn website development, creation and maintenance.
