December 2, 2019
Hello parents,
I hope your Advent is off to a wonderful start. This beautiful four-week season is packed with busy-ness, but also with blessings! We will begin our celebration this week with an Advent Reconciliation service on Wednesday, Dec. 4. All of our area parishes will be holding Advent Reconciliation services as well--Tuesday, December 3rd, 6:00 pm at Christ the King, Thursday, December 5th, 6:00 pm at Immaculate Conception, Tuesday, December 10th, 6:00 pm at St. Boniface, Tuesday, December 10th, 6:00 pm at Sacred Heart of Mary, and Tuesday, December 17th, 6:00 pm at St. Michael’s (Van Buren).
Here's a quick re-cap of our first week back to school--on Thursday, Dec. 5, we will induct our new Trinity Honor Society members at 2:40 p.m. in the gym. Parents are invited to the ceremony. All new and old members of the Honor Society may dress up that day. No jeans please! The TJH Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday after school. Our 9th graders will be going to visit Ozark Catholic Academy on Friday, Dec. 6. They will leave school at about 9 a.m. and will return at about 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided by OCA. The TJH Geography Bee will be held on Friday morning. Many more important dates are listed on the attached December calendar, including ball games, band/choir/drama events, etc.
This very quick month for school will end with semester tests on December 19th (odd numbered periods) and 20th (even numbered periods). The information regarding tests is attached to this email as well. Please note that semester tests are based on BOTH first and second quarter grades and attendance. Students will receive information regarding the tests they are required to take on Wednesday, Dec. 18. On semester test days, school will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. No lunches will be served.
We need your help with one important item--we work very hard to keep your students safe and healthy. When your student is sick at school, PLEASE remind them that all calls for parent pick up need to go through the office. Students are checked by Mrs. Williams, our nurse and/or Mrs. Garcia, our secretary before calls are made to be checked out. This helps in our process both for illness documentation and security. Thanks for assisting us!
Warmest regards,
Dr. Karen Hollenbeck
