December 3, 2018
Dear Parents,
Advent has begun! This beautiful season of preparation is filled with a tremendous amount of activities. We are doing many special things at TJH to celebrate the coming of Jesus. Both our December calendar and an Advent flyer are attached to let you know what is going on and how you can help! Please join us in stressing to our students the importance of keeping their focus on academics among all of the holiday festivities. Most have done a wonderful job of making both studies and attendance a priority. Many will not be required to take semester tests on December 20 and 21. Each class will go over grades and attendance on Wednesday, December 19, but of course you can always keep up with that on Renweb. Please note our semester test policy attached here.
As the weather gets colder, we need to give students a few dress code reminders. Only Trinity jackets and sweatshirts sold by the Booster Club or the sweatshirts sold as part of the Especially For You uniform package are allowed in the classrooms. Many of our students choose to wear shorts all year long, and that is acceptable as long as they realize that unless the temperature drops below 32 degrees or it is raining, they will be spending at least a little time outside. We will allow both girls and boys to wear khaki pants from any vendor, provided they meet our requirements: no denim, no low-rise cut, no skinny styles, and modest. Please do not allow your child to abuse this privilege. Also, please note that your child may have grown significantly over the course of the semester. Please double check that shorts and pants are not too short or too tight!
Many thanks to all of you who filled out our parent satisfaction survey. Your input matters to us and we will work to address your concerns. From all of us at Trinity, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Karen Hollenbeck
