Art class offerings consist of a 1 quarter mini-course for 7th Grade including projects in calligraphy, rubber stamp design and printing, mosaic art, and realistic portraiture. Eighth grade art is a 1 semester course which includes watercolor painting, drawing in many media and block relief printmaking.
Ninth grade art is a full year course with projects in perspective drawing, landscape painting, calligraphy and illuminated manuscripts, self-portraiture, sculpture, cubism and a full quarter of art history.
All grade level courses are grounded in art history and appreciation and the elements and principles of art.
Student work is entered and often does well in competition in the Arkansas Art Educators Regional and State Shows and the River Valley Show.
