The Trinity Junior High School campus comprises 22 acres and is located on the grounds of St. Scholastica Monastery and Educational Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Trinity Junior High is an outgrowth of the continual presence of Catholic education in the Fort Smith area since 1853. When the Sisters of Mercy arrived in Fort Smith, they began teaching children within a few days of their arrival. They continued the education of all of the elementary school children from Immaculate Conception Parish until the parochial school opened in 1930.
In 1973, when St. Anne High School closed, Immaculate Conception added ninth grade. Thus began a Catholic junior high school in Fort Smith.
In September 1986, through efforts of the three Catholic Parishes, the school became diocesan and the name changed to Trinity Junior High School. In the fall of 1990, the school moved to its present location in the newly renovated building of St. Scholastica Education Center.
